Anthony's Dedication Video

Some Random-ness...

Drinking a bottle is serious business... the house could be on fire and he would not budge from drinking that bottle down... he is so tense when he drinks... his whole body. If you put him in a weird position... he would hold that position as long as it took to drink the bottle... we are not sure why he is like this... but sometimes it drives us bonkers... we tell him all the time... "just relax, Anthony! No one is going to take your bottle away..." He is the same way with food in the high chair... he opens his mouth so big and we don't do anything but shovel it in... no interaction... that part is hard... eating should be fun... not for him... it is just serious! We have started making him make eye contact before we give him bites... so he has to do something to get the food... otherwise he just opens swallows, opens swallows, opens swallows... goodness... He has been home almost 5 months. I thought he would have relaxed by now... but he will take longer i guess.

We actually rarely let him hold his own bottle... we wanted him to learn some dependency on us... i am not really sure why i gave him his bottle like this one night... i think i only let him hold it for a couple minutes, then he looked so cute, i had to take a picture... so...

Something Anthony does well, is fall asleep when he is tired... as long as he is comfy... he will just go to sleep. That is awesome. When i hold him in church even... he will get himself into a comfortable position and then just go to sleep. it is so precious to hold a sleeping baby!


uh-oh... when he is naughty he has to sit or stand on "the pink rug" Sometimes we make him stand up and hold on to his crib... to help him with his leg muscles... sometimes we just plop him sitting on there... either way, when you are naughty you go to the pink rug!You stay there until you stop crying, or screaming in Anthony's case... sometimes he can be on there for quite a while... a few times he has actually fallen asleep on there... I was actually able to get a picture before he woke up to the camera sounds... he is so funny and so dramatic!

Anthony's 1st Birthday Party!

Anthony tried to grab the fire as soon as we lit the candle... he was ready to eat it... he knew that cupcake was food... He is so serious about food that i think he would literally eat all day long if you let him... a little obsessive! Notice his fisted hand... food is NO laughing matter with this baby! He had a blast at this cupcake... i put in enough pictures so you can see the basic process... he ate pretty much all of it... there were some mashed crumbs left, that he would have sat there all night picking up and shoving in his little bird mouth had we let him! We decided to call it a day and open presents! He was so cute... typical little boy... he seriously threw the clothes aside! It was hilarious! His favorite gifts were the cars and the car hauler that makes all kinds of sounds!

After the party...

We had 23 people here for his party! I made lemon cupcakes and coconut cake! Some of our guests had to leave before the cake was served, but they had been here all day with us... so at least we had time with them.
